Be clear, be confident, and don’t overthink it.

Years ago, my mentor told me those five simple words. Through their simplicity, however, was a power. I did not realize at the moment, though, how true they would ring to my life’s purpose, today. It explains my obsession with the details of my life, my surroundings, my being. Although many would frown upon obsessing over and loving the details of oneself to the degree that I do, I disagree. The details of me are uniquely made for me – as are the details of you. Our details are uniquely tailored for each of us, and that is what separates us from all of the other remarkable humans in the world competing for the same goals as I am, or as you are. Be clear, be confident, and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

From an early age, I have always been cognizant of the way I present myself – in mind, body, and spirit – whenever I meet someone on the street. It’s a 24-hour job to care for and tend to yourself, but if you don’t do it, who will? However challenging it may be, digging deep to constantly improve who you are and the details of YOU are hours well spent.

I care about those details in young people I meet. I care about the way they carry themselves and what message it says to not only the world but to them; how they, themselves, comprehend the outward appearance they are presenting. Who pays attention to their own details like that? Am I vain or do I care about the message I put out about Dwana? Do you care about the message put out about you? I can control little when it comes to what people think of me, but by focusing on the details of my being, perhaps I have the power to inspire and influence those in and around my life.

Remember, my life is not my own. I feel I should pay attention to my contribution to society. Our youth see, feel, hear and sense everything. It starts with self. How empowered they would feel if they take this same attitude about the details of themselves. Love is in the details.
